Exceptional construction isn’t just about what we build — it’s about how we build it too.
Quality and efficiency are crucial aspects we prioritise for all materials, tools and trade professional on site our sites. What’s also important is our impact on sustainability.
The SAW team is continually exploring means of leading the way in sustainable building practices while ensuring that quality and efficiency are never compromised on. The latest step in our journey is the introduction of Biax void formers starting in August and September.
Staring with our Talbot Road site, Biax void formers are an innovative solution we have chosen to enhance the sustainability of our construction projects where suitable. These 100% recycled void formers are to be used in concrete slabs to reduce the amount of concrete required, while still maintaining superb structural integrity, strength or durability. They not only
cut down on material waste but also reduce the overall carbon footprint of the build.
We are always on the lookout for ways to build better, greener and smarter, incorporating more eco-friendly materials and practices into our construction processes. Biax provides us with the perfect opportunity to do so — its recycled content aligns with our environmental goals and its efficiency supports our commitment to timely project delivery.
Our second slab section was installed on site at our Talbot Road project in August. This isn’t just a one-off — it’s a step towards embedding more sustainable practices across all our projects.
With Biax, we’re expecting to reduce our concrete usage, which in turn simplifies logistics on site. It’s lightweight, easy to work with and supports our commitment to quality — no cutting corners here.
At SAW Constructions, we believe that the future of building lies in innovation and sustainability. Biax is just one example of how we are pushing the boundaries of traditional construction methods to create more sustainable, high-quality projects. As we continue to explore and implement new technologies and materials, we remain committed to delivering exceptional results for our clients, while also doing our part to protect the environment.
