Further focusing on the environmental stability, utilizing the steel frames was the correct choice of framing material as it is a 100% recyclable material, manufactured with recycled steel and it has zero offcuts on site preventing an influx of construction material into landfill. With landfill minimisation in mind, the recycled brickwork was also a preferred material as it gives life to a used brick, as well as adding character to the Flockmill development for future home owners to enjoy. In addition to the sustainable materials, each townhouse will have 8 photovoltaic panels, solar hot water service and with technological advances upcoming, each home owner will have the opportunity to have an electrical charging vehicle station situated in the garage.

During construction, the team were faced with a major issue that was not to be foreseen by any circumstances, a pandemic. A new set of rules and precautions were introduced to keep Saw Constructions employees and subcontractors safe on site which included a thermal check in station that also completed a digital induction and site registry to ensure numbers were all recorded and kept to a minimum. Social distancing was enforced with trades further split up.
